Terms and Conditions of Partnership

Institutional Membership with JPsyExp is governed by clear and transparent terms to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership. The following conditions apply:

  1. Eligibility: Membership is open to accredited universities, research institutes, and academic organisations with active research programmes in psychology or related fields. Applications are subject to approval by the JPsyExp Editorial Board to ensure alignment with our mission and values.
  2. Membership Duration: Membership is valid for one calendar year from the date of agreement, with the option to renew annually. Multi-year agreements may be negotiated for enhanced benefits.
  3. Financial Commitment: Membership fees are paid in advance when the partnership is formalised. Fees support JPsyExp’s operations, including peer review, editorial services, and open-access infrastructure. For detailed fee structures, please email us.
  4. Publication Expectations: Member institutions are encouraged to submit high-quality manuscripts that align with JPsyExp’s scope and rigorous peer-review standards. All submissions undergo the same double-blind peer-review process to maintain academic integrity.
  5. Use of JPsyExp Branding: Member institutions may use JPsyExp’s logo and partnership status in their promotional materials, subject to approval by the JPsyExp Editorial Office to ensure compliance with branding guidelines. Member institutions must have a current membership to display JPsyExp branding in their promotional materials.
  6. Termination of Membership: Either party may terminate the membership with 60 days’ written notice. Upon termination, benefits such as APC waivers and priority review will cease, but previously published articles will remain accessible under the CC BY 4.0 licence. JPsyExp does not offer refunds once an agreement has been formalised and payment has been processed by the member institution.
  7. Academic Standards: Member institutions must adhere to JPsyExp’s guidelines, including those related to authorship, conflicts of interest, and research integrity, as outlined in our Instructions for Authors.

Partnership Flow: How to Get Started

Establishing an Institutional Membership with JPsyExp is a streamlined process designed to initiate a productive and collaborative relationship. Follow these steps to begin:

  1. Express Interest: Email the JPsyExp Editorial Office to express your institution’s interest in membership [with the subject "Institutional Membership - [include your University/Institution Name]". Provide a brief overview of your institution’s research focus and goals for the partnership, along with your role, designation, and contact details. Your email must originate from your institutional email. Personal email (e.g., gmail, outlook) are not acceptable.
  2. Consultation and Proposal: Our team will schedule a consultation to discuss your institution’s needs and how JPsyExp can support your research community. We will provide a tailored membership proposal, including fee structures and specific benefits.
  3. Application Submission: Complete the Institutional Membership Application Form, available upon request from the Editorial Office. The application should include details of your institution’s research programmes and anticipated publication activity.
  4. Review and Approval: The JPsyExp Editorial Board will review your application to ensure alignment with our mission. This process typically takes 2-4 weeks, after which you will receive a formal membership agreement.
  5. Agreement and Onboarding: Sign the membership agreement and submit the membership fee. Upon confirmation, your institution will be onboarded as an Institutional Member, gaining immediate access to all benefits, including APC waivers/discounts and priority review.
  6. Ongoing Collaboration: JPsyExp will assign a dedicated liaison to support your institution throughout the membership period, facilitating manuscript submissions, event participation, and collaborative opportunities.
